Our Mission

SMU's preeminent student-run club for front-office Private Banking and institutional Asset Management. Our mission at the Private Banking & Asset Management Club (PBAM) is to foster SMU’s premier recruiting pipeline for careers across wealth and asset management by equipping driven students with an understanding of institutional asset management, broker-dealer operations at wirehouses and at independent broker-dealers. The ability to connect academic learning with real-world financial experience, fostering hands-on projects in portfolio allocation and long-term wealth strategies.

Through our comprehensive curriculum, interactive market discussions, members gain experience in tailoring client portfolio needs, and a holistic understanding of wealth and asset management.

PBAM was built for SMU students who want to explore hands-on client-financial analysis, investment strategies, tax and estate planning, and client-centric solutions. Additionally, students will explore how private bankers and advisors communicate with investment and lending teams, and navigate the broader financial marketplace through a comprehensive educational curriculum.
